We are a financial, you know, a money remittance company. Our core focus is helping our customers to transfer money from point A to point B in a safe, secure and efficient manner. Mukuru's requirements and the brief was very straight and direct, we needed to migrate them off to Office 365 within three months. They had some licences that had expired and they needed to renew so they wanted to Microsoft 365. Mukuru is a very forward thinking company. So all the way down from our Executive team to our HOD team, the strategy of Mukuru is always forward thinking and that forward thinking is always centred around, how can we best empower our customers, digitising as much as possible, automating as much as possible in the most secure way as possible, has always been on the cards, and this was just another step in that direction. Mukuru faced many challenges, like a lack of an integrated solution due to the use of multiple vendors and siloed solutions. Microsoft provided Mukuru a complete and integrated solution to stay ahead of their competitors in the market. The Microsoft team played an instrumental role in helping us choose a good implementation partner in the form of First Tech/ First Digital, they were part of the project every step of the way. They helped with user training, they helped with anything we needed during implementation, as well as post implementation. There was a lot of users, about 1200 users that we needed to migrate the data across for them, So it was difficult, but there was a lot of planning that went in before the migration, the team from Mukuru was also very good. They helped us a lot with their end user stuff In migrating the data across and getting their users ready for the cut over the switch over that we did in the end. It was important for us as the Mukuru IT team to do this project as securely, as efficiently and as effectively as possible and minimise end user productivity or the impact on end user productivity, as little as possible. The security platform that is included in M365, helped them a lot in mitigating the risk of data loss and breaches, and improved their customer experience by aligning to POPIA regulations in the country. We're talking about securely moving and migrating terabytes upon terabytes of user data and by the time we flipped the switch, and we moved our user base across from the one technology on to, you know, Microsoft 365, everything had to be in place. So I think this project and moving to Microsoft 365 empowered all their users to be more productive, to collaborate more between each other using the same document in OneDrive or SharePoint, to maybe collaborate between the users. and then also with the Team's platform, having the mailboxes in Office 365 made the mailbox or that calendaring and the collaboration between the users a lot easier. So the solution is deployed, it's a role that is being used, but what we are looking forward to is actually leveraging the full potential of the solution stack, and really using the business automation side of this because setting those foundations, like I mentioned from a security point of view, and getting your governance, your IT governance in place, those are the beginning steps, but the actual value in this in the stack, in the solution comes out when we start really exploring the business automation opportunities. Mukuru’s core principles of empowering their employees to be productive and secured, truly aligned with Microsoft’s vision thus bonding this great partnership. Ultimately if the foundations and the internal processes of the company is improved through technology, then ultimately the customer will benefit you know from that change.
