Computational models for brain science

In this talk, Dr. Laschowski will present his research developing new computational and machine learning models for studying intelligence. Examples include (1) deep learning models for visual perception, (2) decoding models that predict behaviour from neural representations, and (3) reinforcement learning models for control and decision-making. His long-term vision is to develop a computational understanding of intelligence by reverse-engineering and building intelligent systems.

Speaker Bios

Dr. Brokoslaw Laschowski is a machine learning researcher and computational neuroscientist. He is a Research Scientist and Principal Investigator at the University Health Network and an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto with appointments in Neuroscience and Mechanical Engineering. He also directs the Computational Neuroscience Lab, an interdisciplinary research lab focused on machine learning, neuroscience, and artificial intelligence.
