Daiqing Qi is a Senior Applied Scientist on the Excel Agent Science team at Microsoft.
Prior to joining Microsoft, he earned his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia (opens in new tab) and spent time at Adobe Research (opens in new tab) and Amazon (opens in new tab), working on multimodal understanding. He is broadly interested in multimodal foundation models, LLM reasoning, and AI agents.
He received the ICML Gold Reviewer Award (opens in new tab) (2026), the NeurIPS Scholar Award (opens in new tab) (2025), and the ICLR Notable Reviewer Award (opens in new tab) (2025). He also co-organized workshops on Generative AI for Photography (opens in new tab) and Educational Assessment (opens in new tab) at WACV’26 (opens in new tab) and NeurIPS’24 (opens in new tab).
